I have been doing a few jobs on the estimate again (1996 td ) . Whilst laying on my back looking up at the turbo pressure sensor I can see a fuel filter mounted to the chassis. A pipe comes from the tank to the filter and then the filter is mounted through a rubber bush in the chassis then goes nowhere. I'm guessing there should be a small pipe on the end of the filter that goes through a whole in the bottom of chassis or worse a pipe should go on the end and then somewhere more important. Hi , hoping for some advice, I have a 2004 ACR30 Estima, today Battery Warning light came on.
I drove to local mechanic who tested battery and said alternator not charging and suggested an auto electrician.
Last week I removed the fuse in passenger footwell that controls radio and power mirrors , as I have a problem with one of my mirrors constantly whirring. could this have started something ? or just a coincidence ?
Any things i should look at or tell auto electrician about ?

So I gave the MAF sensor a clean today after getting the 'too lean' diagnostic code, but noticed that there's a split air intake hose nearer the engine.
The single hose from the air filter and MAF (the MAF meter is part of my air filter lid on the 3.0l so very easy to get to) goes to another plastic box (on the right below of the image below, not sure what it does) and then splits into two. The nearer is fine but as you can see, the one further away has been duct taped...).
